Dream Life Counseling, LLC

Welcome!  My name is Kevin Aldrich, and I am an LPCC (Licensed Professional Counselor) in the state of New Mexico.  I have been practicing for about 10 years now in many different arenas (inpatient, intensive outpatient, community counseling programs, and now private practice).  This is my private practice website (made it myself).  I offer online Zoom sessions to people in New Mexico.  I accept many kinds of insurance, Medicaid, Blue Cross Blue Shield, Aetna, Presbyterian, Cigna, Optum, and Magellan.  I help all kinds of clients from all walks of life, and specialize in helping people overcome anxiety, depression, trauma, addictions, and many other challenges.  I also do couple's counseling and offer short-term family counseling when it is appropriate.  The modalities I frequently use are REBT (Rational Emotive Behavioral Therapy), CBT (Cognitive Behavioral Therapy), classical psychotherapy, dream work (Jungian), art therapy, IPP (Ideal Parent Protocol), mindfulness and meditation, and many more.  Last, but not least, I offer support groups for therapists who practice in New Mexico.

My Counseling Philosophy

I believe in my clients (you).  I believe in their natural abilities to heal themselves, and to benefit from their interactions and support from community, friends, partners, and family when appropriate.  I believe we're all equally valuable, though different.  I'm grateful that I'm not in a position to sit silently and never say anything, judge, shame, or chastise, but that I can support, listen, and offer feedback (I often do).  I am a goal-oriented provider, meaning I try to keep us focused on your goals that you and I come up with for your treatment.  I believe in your strengths, your innate goodness, and that it is time for you to shine!

Frequently Asked Questions

Your questions answered for clarity and assurance.

What insurances does Dream Life Counseling accept, and when are available hours for sessions?

We accept Medicaid, Aetna, Blue Cross Blue Shield, Cigna, Magellan, and Optum.

Sessions are generally an hour, but can be as short as thirty or forty five minutes.  I'm available Monday through Friday from 1pm to 8pm (last session is at 7pm).  I make one day available for morning sessions, and take some clients on Saturdays for those with work-family time conflicts.

How are sessions conducted, and how can I contact and/or get started with Dream Life Counseling?

All sessions are conducted via HIPAA-compliant telehealth on Zoom for convenience and privacy.  You can reach me at 505-428-8550 or email dreamlifecounselingnm@gmail.com for more information.  I will send you some documents and once signed and approved by my biller, you'll be all set to go (generally less than a week).

Why do you do this Kevin?  I mean, who are you really?

I was the first open adoption in the state of Missouri, and I grew up on a horse farm in Pennsylvania.  I have lived and worked in many countries, around 15 now, and I speak basic Japanese, French, and Thai.  I love all people, no matter where you come from or who you are.  I think that if we can learn to support one another and be positive, mindful, and proactive, the world will be a better place (I already think that America and the world is great) and am passionate about making the time I have impactful.  I love the outdoors, and find a spiritual connection with my place as a human being on the beach, in the mountains, and forests.  I love horses, and ride every week, and hope to open an Equine Therapy service in 2025.

Tell me more about this support group for counselors, I'm really interested..

The support group for New Mexico counselors is weekly, on Fridays from 2pm to 4pm.  Admission is rolling, insurance is accepted though not required, and there is a sliding scale for those therapists and helping professionals who choose not to use insurance or who are uninsured.  Topics we can cover and process are burnout, professional development, transference and countertransference, but are not limited to these.

When: Fridays 2pm to 4pm
Who: Helping professionals (Therapists, Social Workers, Physicians, Nurses, Etc.)
Where: On my HIPPA compliant Zoom platform.
